Competition: Spain’s top flight: La Liga
Date: September 1, 2019
Kick-off time: 4:00 pm, September 1, 2019 (UK time)
Stadium: Estadi Ciutat de València
Valencia have certainly got off on the wrong foot in their new venture and are currently winless in their last two games in the running. The hosts who came in fourth in the table, last time around, were at the losing end in their most recent matchup on the road against Celta Viga by a 1-0 scoreline, while their only other clash saw them held by Real Sociedad to a frustrating 1-1 draw.
The freshly promoted Mallorca side, on the other hand, hit the ground running with an opening day 2-1 victory against Eibar at home. However, the visitors tasted defeat soon after, with Real Sociedad coming out on top in their previous fixture.
With home advantage out of the equation, Mallorca will be in for a tough ninety minutes this weekend, as Valencia, albeit struggling at the moment, are boasting an impressive home record under their belt.

Valencia Latest Team News
Valencia will be extremely disappointed after not being able to get all 3 points against Real Sociedad at home. Their main striking force Kevin Gameiro, scored a goal but missed a penalty afterward. Valencia was letting the game come to them as they played some direct style of football and using counter attacks. They were defeated by Celta Vigo in their last game, that one could have gone either way. It will be interesting to see them face a team who plays a similar way as they do. They will be chasing the top 4 again this season and I fully expect them to do so. They will not be missing any of their players in this game. I can see them as a prominent winners in this game.
Current Valencia squad is:
Forwards: Kévin Gameiro, Rubén Sobrino, Rodrigo, Maximiliano Gómez
Midfilders: Daniel Wass, Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Denis Cheryshev, Gonçalo Guedes, Jason, Álvaro Medrán, Manu Vallejo, Carlos Soler, Ferrán Torres, Kang-in Lee, Koba Koindredi, Pascu
Defenders: Ezequiel Garay, Eliaquim Mangala, Jaume Costa, Gabriel Paulista, Salvador Ruiz, Cristiano Piccini, José Luis Gayà, Mouctar Diakhaby, Javier Jiménez
Goalkeepers: Jasper Cillessen, Jaume Doménech, Cristian Rivero
Predicted line-up (4-4-2): Cillessen; Wass, Garay, Diakhaby, Gaya; Ferran Torres, Parejo, Kondogbia, Guedes; Maxi Gomez, Rodrigo
Mallorca Latest Team News
Mallorca likes to wait for their opponents and attack them on the counter. They were defeated against Sociedad in their last game, but they won against Eibar on their season opener. They will heavily rely on Rodriguez and Budimir to produce some goals in this game. I expect them to defend well in this game but at the end Valencia will be too much for them.
Current RCD Mallorca squad is:
Forwards: Ante Budimir, Aleksandar Trajkovski, Pablo Chavarria, Abdón Prats, Álex Alegría, Cucho Hernández, Sergio Moyita
Midfilders: Marc Pedraza, Yannis Salibur, Lago Júnior, Salva Sevilla, Ariday, Aleix Febas, Josep Señé, Dani Rodriguez, Takefusa Kubo, Iddrisu Baba Mohammed
Defenders: Francisco Javier Campos, Martin Valjent, Lumor Agbenyenu, Aleksandar Sedlar, Raillo, Joan Sastre, Pierre Cornud, Fran Gámez, Raúl Prada
Goalkeepers: Manolo Reina, Miquel Parera, Miguel Parera

Los Che opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Sociedad before losing 1-0 at Balaídos to Celta last weekend.
Marcelino’s side have finished fourth in each of the last two seasons and expect to repeat that as a minimum this year.
Newly promoted Mallorca meanwhile have one win and one defeat so far.

Valencia vs Mallorca Prediction
Torel’s men have not got off to the start that they would have preferred and are hoping that they will not have to wait any further than this weekend to register their first win in the season. The odds are certainly in favor of the hosts, who have lost just one of their last ten LaLiga games at home.
The away side have not been at their best in their trips on the road, even in the second division, and are without a win in their previous five outings. The Vermilions have not been faring well in their visits to this stadium either and have managed to walk away with the bragging rights just twice from their fifteen trips here, the last of which came nearly a decade ago.
Considering that Valencia have been a much more competitive side in the comforts of their home, an easy win for them against the newly promoted Mallorca is certainly in the cards.
Two out of the previous three clashes between the two sides here have seen over 2.5 goals on the scorecards. Taking into account that both the teams have already opened their accounts with three goals between them, it is certainly safe to expect a high scoring clash to unfold.
